Falling Pickaxe
Forget spinning reels. You get a pickaxe — wooden, stone, iron or diamond — and you drop it. It smashes through dirt, chews into stone, and every block it destroys pays a multiplier. TNT blows the floor out, an upgrade arrow makes the axe bigger mid-fall, and a workbench forges it into the next tier. The deeper it digs, the richer the seam.
How to Play Falling Pickaxe
Four beats per round. It takes about fifteen seconds to learn and one drop to get hooked.
Set Your Stake
Pick your bet and hit spin. The starting wheel decides which pickaxe you get — Wooden, Stone, Iron, Diamond, or a Cross that ends the round on the spot.
Drop the Axe
Physics takes over. The pickaxe falls, hits the first layer and starts breaking blocks. Every hit burns durability, and durability is the only currency that matters.
Hit the Good Stuff
Copper, redstone, gold, diamond, emerald. Each block pays its own multiplier. TNT clears a path for free, the workbench repairs and upgrades, slime bounces you sideways.
Cash the Seam
When durability hits zero, the round ends and every multiplier collected is added up and paid against your stake. Then you do it again, deeper.
The Four Pickaxes and Their Durability
Durability (HP) is how many block hits you can afford. It is the single number that decides how deep you get.
Wooden
100 HPSurface layers only. Dirt, stone and a little copper before it snaps.
Stone
150 HPUsually reaches redstone at depth 10. The honest workhorse of the game.
Iron
200 HPOpens up the gold layer, and with a bit of luck the first diamonds.
Diamond
400 HPFour times the wooden axe. The only tool that realistically reaches emerald.
Blocks, HP and Multipliers
Every block has its own hit points, its own multiplier, and a minimum depth before it can even appear. This table is the economy of the whole game.
| BLOCK | HP | MULTIPLIER | MIN DEPTH |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dirt | 1 | — | 0m |
| Stone | 1 | — | 0m |
| Copper | 5 | x0.01 | 0m |
| Redstone | 10 | x0.05 | 10m |
| Gold | 15 | x0.2 | 20m |
| Diamond | 20 | x1 | 30m |
| Emerald | 30 | x5 | 40m |
Special Blocks & Power-Ups
Four blocks turn an ordinary drop into the kind of round people clip and post. These are the ones to watch for.
TNT — Blow the Floor Out
Break a TNT block and it detonates, wiping out every block in a radius. You skip a tough layer without spending a single durability point and you bank the multipliers of everything the blast destroyed. A dying pickaxe's best friend.
Upgrade Arrow — Go Wide
Grows the pickaxe by 1.5x for 3 seconds. Arrows stack: a second one takes you to 2x, a third to 2.5x. A wider axe touches more blocks over the same fall distance, so it collects more multipliers for the same drop.
Workbench — Repair & Promote
The single most valuable block in the game. It fully restores durability and promotes the pickaxe one tier: Wooden to Stone, Stone to Iron, Iron to Diamond. Two workbenches on a wooden axe and you are suddenly falling with a full 200 HP iron.
Slime — The Bounce
Slime does not break. It launches the pickaxe somewhere else on the grid and it is the only block in the game that costs zero durability. It can save a doomed drop or fling you clean out of a gold vein. That is the physics engine doing its job.
Buy Bonus & Auto Mode
Buy Bonus
Skip the wheel entirely and enter the round with the pickaxe of your choice for a fixed price. Straight to a diamond drop, no Crosses, no wooden axes. Available in the demo too, so you can test the value before you spend.
Auto Mode
Queue a fixed number of consecutive rounds and let them run. Useful for testing durability behaviour over volume in the demo, and for keeping a steady rhythm on low-stake real money sessions.
What the Game Actually Looks Like
Strengths and Weaknesses
Falling Pickaxe is a game with opinions. Here is what it gets right and what you have to accept before your first drop.
Pixmove
Instant game studio
The Studio Behind the Drop
Pixmove built its name porting mechanics from mainstream gaming and streaming culture into casino content. The studio calls it a trends-first approach: spot the format that is already working with young audiences, then rebuild it as an interactive money game.
With Falling Pickaxe, the studio did not licence an existing mechanic. It built its own execution format around a real physics engine, and that choice is deliberate: unpredictable falls are what keep a player pressing spin one more time.
“The release of Falling Pickaxe is a significant step for the iGaming industry. We aim to identify emerging trends first and turn them into interactive entertainment. For this title we did not simply adapt an existing mechanic — we built our own execution format.” SEVERIN VERVALD, CPO AT PIXMOVE — JUNE 2026
The game runs in HTML5 straight from the browser, which is why it works identically on desktop, iPhone, iPad and Android with no download. Official Pixmove game page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Falling Pickaxe is an instant win game by Pixmove that replaces spinning reels with a vertical mining drop. You are dealt a pickaxe — Wooden, Stone, Iron or Diamond — and it falls through layers of blocks. Every block destroyed can pay a multiplier, while TNT, upgrade arrows and workbenches change how far you get. The short, spectacular rounds are exactly what made it go viral on TikTok.
Falling Pickaxe runs an RTP of 95% with low volatility. That RTP is slightly under the industry average of roughly 96%, but low volatility means more frequent, smaller wins and steadier sessions. Remember that RTP is a statistical average measured over millions of rounds — it guarantees nothing about your session.
The maximum win is x160 your stake. It is a deliberately low ceiling that matches the low volatility: wins land often but stay moderate. If you are hunting four-figure multipliers, this is not the title for you.
Yes. Pixmove ships a free demo with 50,000 virtual credits. Every mechanic is identical to the real money version, including Buy Bonus and Auto mode. No registration, no deposit — just hit Free Demo at the top of this page.
Two different mechanics that are easy to confuse. The workbench fully restores durability and promotes the pickaxe one tier: Wooden to Stone, Stone to Iron, Iron to Diamond. Upgrade arrows only change size — 1.5x for 3 seconds, stacking to 2x then 2.5x.
The Cross means no pickaxe: the round ends immediately with no drop at all. Pixmove built in a safeguard — after 7 consecutive Crosses, the 8th round is guaranteed to award a pickaxe. It caps how long a cold streak can run.
Yes. The game is built in HTML5 and runs straight in the browser on iPhone, iPad and Android — no download, no app store. The layout is portrait-first, so the drop, the durability bar and the bet controls all stay within thumb reach.
